- Tell us something about your educational and professional background. What inspired you to become a Business Leader or lead a company?
For over a decade, I navigated the halls of corporate America, feeling a persistent sense of constraint on my ability to enact meaningful change. Despite my dedication and expertise, I found myself limited in making pivotal decisions that could significantly impact the company and community around me. This internal conflict grew as I yearned for more purposeful work, yet I was hitting walls at every turn. Although I received very enticing job offers and opportunities, my loyalty kept my grounded and in place within the company at the time. Eventually, the burning desire to align my professional pursuits with my personal values became irresistible, and I took the leap of faith and founded From The Hart Management, LLC. This venture allows me to engage on project that truly matter, collaborating with clients and entities committed to making a positive impact.

- Being a successful business leader, what difficulties and challenges do you face? What keeps you motivated?
As a business leader, I encounter several challenges. One major difficulty is balancing the diverse needs of my team while driving the company’s goals forward. Another challenge is staying ahead in a rapidly evolving market, which requires constant adaptation and innovation. Additionally, it’s no secret I battle leukaemia which can also be very hard to manage at the same time. I’m also driven by the opportunity to create an environment where people feel valued and empowered, which ultimately leads to better outcomes for everyone involved.
- Tell us something about your team and the culture of your company. How do you motivate your team to be innovative and productive at work?
First and foremost, I prioritize open communication channels at all levels of the organization. Team members should feel comfortable sharing ideas, concerns, and feedback without fear of judgment. This open dialogue fosters a culture of transparency and trust, laying the groundwork for collaboration.
I also believe in empowerment and autonomy. By empowering employees to take ownership of their work and explore innovative solutions independently, as well as providing autonomy and trusting individuals to make decisions, it encourages creativity and initiative. Additionally, creating an inclusive environment where all voices are heard ensures that everyone feels valued and motivated to contribute.
- How would you describe your leadership style, and what has been your success mantra?
I’m going to answer this question in reverse order. My success mantra is, “Putting People Before Profit.” As the CEO of From The Hart Management LLC, I lead with a servant leadership style, embodying principles that prioritize the needs and growth of my team above all else. At the core of my approach is the belief that true leadership is about serving others, empowering them to reach their fullest potential, and fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.
One key principle that guides my leadership is transparency. I believe in open and honest communication, ensuring that my team is informed and involved in decision-making processes. By demonstrating empathy, I create a supportive and inclusive work environment where individuals feel valued and empowered to contribute their best. By fostering a growth mindset, I inspire innovation and creativity within the organization, driving us to constantly evolve and improve.
Ultimately, my leadership is guided by a commitment to serving others, fostering trust and collaboration, and empowering individuals to achieve their fullest potential.
- What are your future plans for the company in 2025? Where do you see the company in the years to come?
My latest project is HartCenteredLife™, an online education platform designed to foster a vibrant and supportive community for individuals seeking personal or professional transformation. This inclusive community welcomes everyone, from everyday people to entrepreneurs. Our favourite aspect is the community feature, akin to an internal social media platform, where learners can connect, support each other, and celebrate every win, boosting motivation together.
- If you want to share a message or give a suggestion to our readers, what would it be?
I always tell aspiring entrepreneurs that it’s the idea that may falter, never the individual behind it. Failures serve as invaluable lessons, illuminating what doesn’t work and guiding us toward necessary adjustments and eventual triumphs. If you try something and it doesn’t work, brush yourself off and keep on going.
In today’s world, it’s disheartening to see how often it feels like we’re trapped in a narrative where progress is elusive. Consider the impact if each individual committed to just one act of kindness for their community every week. The ripple effect of such simplicity could indeed revolutionize our world. Yet, frustratingly, we seem unable to achieve this seemingly straightforward goal.
However, I maintain faith in our capacity to effect change. It’s within our grasp, but it requires concerted effort and determination. We must strive harder, pushing beyond the barriers that hinder us from realizing this collective potential.
