HCL Technologies was selected by McLaren Health Care, a fully integrated health network committed to quality, evidence-based patient care and cost efficiency, to provide digital transformation, stand-up a global EMR (Electronic Medical Record) Centre of Excellence, and enable higher standards of service to members, providers, and employees.

The partnership will have HCL deliver IT services for all 15 McLaren system hospitals located in Michigan and Ohio. “At McLaren Health Care, we are committed to quality outcomes and this partnership will contribute to our fundamental vision and goals, which is to be the preferred healthcare provider to the communities we serve.” said Ron Strachan, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at McLaren Health Care. “This pursuit to be more digital-forward reflects our commitment to ensure our hospitals provide best value in healthcare services to our patients, as defined by quality of outcomes and cost.”

McLaren operates Michigan’s largest network of cancer centres and providers, anchored by the Karmanos Cancer Institute, one of only 51 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centres in the U.S. McLaren Health Care will be the best value in health care as defined by quality outcomes and cost. McLaren Health Plan (MHP) has been operating as a Michigan-based licensed Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) since 1998 and currently delivers health care benefits to 260,000 members. The HMO was started to serve Michigan’s Medicaid population and has added group, individual and Medicare products along with a Third-Party Administrator called Health Advantage, Inc., for self-funded employer groups.
